Since 1990, Dr. Reginald Gates has focused on delivering comprehensive natural health care alternatives to address each patient's individual needs, with the goal of restoring the body to maximum function.

Dr. Gates holds a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) and a Master of Science in Organometallic Chemistry, both from McMaster University. He earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College cum laude in both academic and clinical streams, receiving the Marilyn Philips Award for leadership and service to the student body.

At the Burlington location, Dr. Gates works alongside two psychiatrists. The office also serves as a participating site for the Inter-professional Spine Assessment and Education Clinic (ISAAC) — a collaborative, evidence-based program providing comprehensive spine assessments through an inter-professional team.

1990

Began chiropractic practice in Burlington, Ontario. Joined the College of Chiropractors of Ontario, Ontario Chiropractic Association, and Canadian Chiropractic Association.

1994

Joined the Hamilton Business Executive Organization.

1999

Became Mentor for Science and Chemistry students at McMaster University.

2001

Appointed Quality Assurance Assessor, College of Chiropractors of Ontario. Received Presidential Award of Excellence and Certificate of Recognition.

2007

Appointed Examiner with the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board (Hamilton, Calgary, Montreal). Joined Item Selection Committee for National Board written examination.

Served as chiropractor for McMaster Men's & Women's Varsity Swim Team and Team Canada's Kickboxing and Karate teams.

Instructor of Pathology and Sports Injuries at Canadian Therapeutic and Trillium College.

2014

Began volunteering as chiropractor at Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre, addressing health inequities including poverty, racism, and homelessness.

2018

Joined the Board of the Chiropractors of Ontario as Director (Research Committee). Currently serving second term on Finance and Audit Committee.

2020

Volunteered on the Ontario Chiropractic Association Return to Practice working group during the COVID-19 pandemic.

2026

Awarded the CCA Lifetime Achievement Award at the Canadian Chiropractic Association's National Convention & Tradeshow in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The ISAAC Program

Dr. Gates' Burlington office participates in the Inter-professional Spine Assessment and Education Clinic (ISAAC), formerly known as ISEAC. This program brings together a team of health professionals to deliver comprehensive, evidence-based spine assessments and care plans.

Working alongside two psychiatrists at the Burlington location, Dr. Gates contributes to a truly integrated model of care that addresses both the physical and psychological dimensions of chronic pain and spinal conditions — ensuring patients with complex presentations receive the full scope of expertise they need.
